Why Zitko chose Recruiter Insider

A consistent, automated way to capture feedback, and a platform that keeps building what its clients ask for.

A consistent process, not a personal habit

Before Recruiter Insider, testimonials and referrals depended on individual consultants remembering to ask. Some were consistent, others weren't, and valuable opportunities were being missed.

Automated, and built into the CRM

Recruiter Insider integrated directly into Zitko's existing CRM system, automating feedback collection overnight rather than adding another manual task for consultants.

Feedback that flags flight risk

When a candidate gives poor feedback on salary or benefits, Zitko can go back to the client, raise it, and in some cases secure a better offer before the candidate walks away.

Live within 45 minutes

The ATS integration is configured through dropdown boxes in five to ten minutes, with consultant training taking around thirty, so a new agency is typically live within 45.

A business development asset

Testimonials and hard data get used in client reviews, tenders and marketing, giving Zitko's consultants something concrete to bring into every client conversation.

A platform built around what clients ask for

Features including the client benchmarking tool and the new business toolkit were built directly off requests from TRN members, including Zitko's own leadership.

It's a really cost-effective kind of value add to give to your customers. It's all done for you, so it's not something you have to go and dig around to find yourself.

The full conversation

Laura Raven, MD at Zitko Group, and Justin, founder of Recruiter Insider, on four and a half years of working together.

1

Can you introduce yourself and Zitko?

Laura Raven Laura Raven

I'm the MD at Zitko Group. We're a security technologies recruitment business, working in the UK and predominantly the US, but also the wider EMEA region.

2

What was the main challenge or gap in your business before Recruiter Insider?

Laura Raven Laura Raven

The biggest challenge was a consistent process. We knew our delivery was strong, but we weren't consistently collecting feedback or referrals, because it relied on individual consultants remembering to ask. Some people were great at it, others didn't feel comfortable, and we were missing valuable opportunities.

When our CEO George saw the demo, he felt it automated everything we were looking for and integrated straight into our CRM. Overnight, our feedback, testimonials and usable data were transformed, and for the price point, what we got back far outweighed the cost.

3

How did the introduction to Recruiter Insider come about?

Laura Raven Laura Raven

It came through being a partner at The Recruitment Network (TRN), who identified Recruiter Insider as something genuinely usable and customer-focused. It's really important to us that we put our candidates and clients first, so being able to get consistent, almost instant feedback from them helped us improve our service levels.

4

What did you understand about Zitko's situation when you first engaged with them?

Justin, Recruiter Insider Justin, Recruiter Insider

George had been looking for something to automate and bring structure to their feedback, rather than asking high-level questions with no real tangible benefit. Testimonials are great, but on their own they don't identify where in the hiring process an agency can improve, and that's the real purpose of feedback.

Zitko were one of our launch TRN members four and a half years ago, introduced by Gordon at TRN, and they're still with us today. In fact, one of our platform features, the new business toolkit, came directly from a conversation with George at a TRN retreat in Bristol, where he wanted to use the data in a tender.

5

How quickly did implementation happen?

Justin, Recruiter Insider Justin, Recruiter Insider

Under an hour. Our integration with ATS platforms means the configuration between our system and the agency's, in Zitko's case Vincere, is literally a matter of dropdown boxes, taking around five to ten minutes. Training the consultants on the basics takes about thirty minutes, so a typical agency is set up within 45. Zitko was well within that.

6

What does a successful client relationship look like from your side?

Justin, Recruiter Insider Justin, Recruiter Insider

It's the agencies that actually take the data and do something with it, rather than just reading their testimonials. They look at their hiring process, take the constructive feedback as well as the good, and bring that data to their existing clients to show where things are falling down.

We collect candidate and hiring manager feedback during the process and post-placement, and the agencies who perform best are the ones producing reports from it and taking them into client meetings to show how they're performing against the industry benchmark.

7

What's actually changed in your business since working with Recruiter Insider?

Laura Raven Laura Raven

It's not just the testimonials, it's using the data in so many ways. That could be feeding back to hiring managers about where a process broke down, flagging an internal training gap, or picking up on flight risk, for example if a candidate scores their salary or benefits poorly. We can go back to the client, flag it, and in some cases secure an improved offer, then let the candidate know it was based on their feedback.

We also use the data externally for things like marketing and sharing customer feedback with our community. There's a quarterly and yearly Recruiter Insider Award we get competitive about, and we run our own internal award for the consultant with the best score and most testimonials and referrals over the year.

8

What would you say to another TRN member considering Recruiter Insider?

Laura Raven Laura Raven

It's easy to fit into your current CRM and runs in the background, so you're not relying on consultants to send manual emails. Justin is constantly tweaking and updating it based on what clients ask for. It's a cost-effective value add for your customers, it's all done for you, and you can use it in quarterly business reviews and feedback reports without having to dig around for the information yourself.

9

Can you give an example of a feature built off a client request?

Justin, Recruiter Insider Justin, Recruiter Insider

George grabbed me at a TRN retreat in Bristol needing a report for a tender. Within three to four weeks we'd released what's now one of the platform's key BD features. Similarly, another TRN member, Andy McMaster at Travel Services, told me at a Windsor retreat he'd love to benchmark his clients against each other. I worked out how to build it that same day, on another call, and it became our client benchmarking feature, still one of my top three features on the platform.

10

Would this relationship have happened without TRN?

Laura RavenJustin Laura Raven and Justin

Both agree it wouldn't have. Laura points out that good businesses can get lost in the noise, and a referral from a partner you trust, like TRN, rubber-stamps a company straight away. Justin was introduced to TRN five and a half years ago by an Australian TRN member, and every agency introduced in that first round, including Zitko, is still a client today.

11

What does being part of the TRN ecosystem mean for how you operate?

Laura Raven Laura Raven

It's valuable to speak to people outside our niche who are still in recruitment, share knowledge and ideas, and hear about the latest technology at the retreats. Zitko has been part of TRN for the seven years I've been here, and I'm convinced the support and networking is a big part of why we've grown.

Justin, Recruiter Insider Justin, Recruiter Insider

Without TRN, we wouldn't be the business we are in the UK today. Every TRN member has a real desire to keep improving and growing, and they share openly with each other even when they're competitors sitting side by side. That's quite unique, and it's the same premise our platform is built on: continuous improvement.
